A Series of Posts to Help You Get Ready for Your (Possibly) First Convention [part 1: Packing]

Hey guys! IT’S MAY, and what does that mean? Convention season for Crimson has started this month (this past weekend actually)! And by convention season I mean “convention season” since I’ve had to cut down quite a bit on my outings this year

And it’s actually because of that cut that I now have more time to sit down and pass on my infinite wisdom to all of you young con-grasshoppers. If anyone wants my credentials for these posts: I got none (jk jk, I have attended like 2 conventions in my life, that makes me an expert, right?)

Now this was going to be one post but as I got writing, I realized I had quite a bit to say, so we’re going to have a second part later on this week. Possibly on Friday as I sit down and cry about the fact I can’t be in CA for the Sherlock Convention #CRIES

Oreimo (Ep 1 – 2)

Hey guys!

How have you been? Hopefully well, with some anime action mixed in! I’m not sure how many people are still in school right now (I’m assuming quite a few but I could be wrong) but considering it’s August already and that time of year again, I’m trying to cram in as much anime as I can before I have to take a break.

I’m already at my 4 week mark and it’s kind of scary how a month ago I wanted to go back to school and now I don’t…

Anyways, so on August 1st there was this #801Day celebration on Twitter where we were posting all things yaoi and I randomly remembered these doujin I’d read a while back. I posted up the pictures of the character who I knew were named Akagi and Kousaka, and even mentioned I shipped them even though I had no clue who they were.

And then I found out they were characters from this show called Oreimo. Since I didn’t really have anything to watch these last few days I thought I’d check it out only to not want to anymore when I saw the orange-haired girl. I have no idea why but just seeing her was like a red sign saying STOP. So I did. But then I got curious…and curiouser…and I watched the first episode.  Continue reading

Lucky Number 13

For my first post I have decided to talk about a manga I just re-read.

I recently made an MAL account and I was trying to figure out what anime and manga I had watched. I had some bookmarks on mangahere so I transferred those. For some reason I started to wonder if I ever finished Lucky Number 13, especially since there was an update on my mangago account (I have accounts everywhere and forget about them later).

I went back and read it and fell in love again!

There are two volumes and the manga is by Yamamoto Kotetsuko.

Basically, the manga is about Satou Hiroshi, a cute boy who has a predisposition to extreme clumsiness and bad luck. Rumor has it that when he starts dating someone that bad luck is transferred to his partner and thus his popularity on campus swells. He’s known as the guy who gets dumped in less than a week because his partners can’t handle the constant abuse they receive from this ‘curse.’

As the manga starts we see him being dumped after only being with someone for three days. They both agree to break up and Satou is once again plagued by his clumsiness.  Continue reading
