Welcome back to another OWLS post. It’s been awhile so I thought I’d go over what OWLS is, just in case anyone reading this is a newcomer. Back in December, a couple bloggers thought it’d be cool to team up and create a blogging group (credit for idea goes to OGZ) that did monthly blog tours (credit to Arria) where we would promote acceptance in the community for all individuals via anime and related fandoms
I think a lot of us mentioned that we didn’t just want to promote tolerance for minority groups, but acceptance. Personally, I wanted to share some of my thoughts on certain matters and learn from my fellow bloggers about theirs.
Our first tour was in January and we talked about Disruptors, which I think is one way to describe OWLS. Since then we’ve completed 4 tours and we’re now on our 5th one! And each time I think we’re getting better at what we set out to do Continue reading OWLS Strength Blog Tour: Shirotani’s Mental Fortitude and Helping Hand (It’s OK to Need Help Sometimes)
So I noticed it’s been awhile since I last posted something on my site. Or at least it feels that way because most of the stuff that published recently were scheduled beforehand (I know, even I surprise myself!). The only new stuff I did was the Your Name, GitS, Fate of the Furious, and Beauty and the Beast posts (yay to new movies!)
Because of that, I thought it would be fun to join in the Dream Crate posting!
I’ve seen a couple videos before (unboxings) of Loot Crate. I know my brother has wanted to try ordering one before and even I’ve considered trying this out once (if they only had the yaoi, wow you guys I’d be on that ASAP). And recently I was told that there was a Dream Crate project where we plebeians can nudge nudge wink wink at Loot Crate Continue reading Crimson’s Dream Crates, What Is Yours?
Hey guys! So the other day I decided to start watching some anime again because yes, I don’t think I’ve watched much anime in some…3 months possibly? Maybe even more. I’ve actually been sticking to manga and novels
But instead of watching some of the newer stuff, I found myself checking out series like Aldnoah Zero, which I reviewed in 2015 and then I ended up doing some episode by episode impressions for it (2017). I also ended up watching Hakkenden and I was originally only going to watch 3 or 4 episodes…but by the time I checked my clock it was already 5AM, I hadn’t slept a wink and I’d finished season 1!
The first season of Hakkenden is 13 episodes long and is about a boy named Shino who was supposed to die when he was 13, however, his will to survive was so strong that he was given a choice to save himself and the people he loved. Five years later and he’s doing seemingly well with Hamaji, his younger sister, and Sousuke, his older brother/guardian, if you exclude the small fact that Shino hasn’t physically aged since he was saved and is now the bearer of the demonic sword Murasame Continue reading Season 1 of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East (By Creator Miyuki Abe from Super Lovers)
I feel like I’ve told this story so many times already but here we go again!
The first time I encountered yaoi was in 7th grade. I used to walk my friend home and she was the talkative type, which is honestly my favorite type of person (since I talk very little). She was talking about some anime stuff and I just happened to stop listening for a little while (darn habit!). Next thing I know she’s waiting for my response and I’m just like Uhhhh, what did you say? Continue reading Confessions of a Fujoshi: How I Got Into the Genre of “Yaoi” and My First Ship
