The Lovers: Escaflowne Kickstarter Goodies Are Finally Here!!

Hey guys!

So it’s been awhile since I last wrote up a “Recent Purchase” post. One reason being that I have little spending money, and the other that I get too excited about little things I buy and just end up posting it on Twitter. Like those terrible pictures about the YOI Merchandise I got at Kino that one day

But today after breakfast, the mail lady came to our door and left a box for me. At first I was like,  ha she got the wrong house again I haven’t bought anything recently, but when I checked the sender I nearly screamed! Warning: crappy pictures incoming

Now, before I get into the contents of the box, I wanted to go over what Tier I got for the Vision of Escaflowne real quick (though if you read this post then you probably already know).  Continue reading

Skip Beat Kickstarter: 47 Hours to Go!

Hey guys! Just wanted to leave this Kickstarter for you all to check out! I wrote about it on UnimeTV and for some reason, I forgot to mention it here too…

We are now at the 47 hours mark and while this has been successfully funded, there is one Stretch Goal I’m sure everyone hopes to meet: Blu-Ray Upgrade. The Blu-Ray option can only be done if we meet the $185,000 goal and right now we’re at about $173,655. Why about? Because this Kickstarter is also accepting pledges via Paypal.

All you have to do is add in what tier you’re pledging (don’t forget shipping!), if you’re including any add-ons, and if you’re from the US or Canada. I’m actually going to do it this way because of some…unfortunate things that happened with my last Kickstarter spree… Continue reading

Vision of Escaflowne Kickstarter coming to an end!

This is just an update for you guys. The Vision of Escaflowne kickstarter is coming to an end in 3 days so if you guys plan on funding the project now is the time to open your wallets!

There had been some conflict over the Collector’s Edition and Kickstarter Edition goodies, however, Funimation has been doing a good job at answering questions and making the Collector’s Edition exclusive. Continue reading

Crimson is Backing Vision of Escaflowne Kickstarter

I’m sure many of you guys have seen this Kickstarter by now, if not through Funimation then through Takuto’s recent blog post. I actually stumbled upon this news when Magnitude Reviews tweeted about it. Getting curious, because this series is one of my favorites/makes me super frustrated, I checked it out.

As you can see there are still 29 more days to go, however, this project is very nearly funded! I was checking out the tiers today and a lot of the big ones are starting to run out. The $5,000 tier was instantly gone and that one included getting a tour around Funimation, and getting to audition for a role in the new dub, as well as everything in the previous tiers.  Continue reading

Kickstarter Package: Osamu Tezuka

Hey guys!

It’s been a while since I last wrote about the Alabaster Kickstarter. If you followed me on my other blog around the time I first started blogging, that’s where I first announced I’d be helping fund the reprinting of Osamu Tezuka’s book Alabaster.

Some background info on the kickstarter: this was created by Digital Manga and was done from late January to the end of February (practically). The goal was to raise $29,200 but with everyone’s efforts we ended up raising $32,304. At some point Digital Manga started adding some Stretch Goals and different tiers to accommodate the community.

Now, while a lot of the bundles were great (limited edition wooden Alabaster coin, an illustration, name in the book, getting the books for your library, etc), I wanted something a bit less collectible and more PRINT.  Continue reading

  • A Foreign Love Affair
