Back but still on semi-Hiatus (plans for now til 2018)

Hey guys! So this is a bit of an update post for a couple things coming up this year

To start off…I’m “Back”. What do I mean by this? Well, my mom is way better and we hope that next week is her last visit to the doctors (she has to go back once a week so they can see if she’s healing right) but that doesn’t mean I’m in the clear. Yes I have more time but I also now have a second job as I plan to…

I know, I’m so excited but also afraid because it’s not set in stone yet. It really depends on if I can find an affordable place to stay at (hint hint, anyone know where I can stay? any London readers here? please I really want to go :”D)

Magic mirror, on the wall—who is the fairest one of all? aka. Crimson talks a bit about Body Type

Hey guys! Here I am again, popping in for one post this month. I know, tragic right? Well, if anyone is even out there wondering (lol)

For today’s post I wanted to write a bit about this month’s OWLS topic:

“Magic mirror, on the wall—who is the fairest one of all?”

When we look in the mirror, what do we see? Do we see ourselves or someone we don’t want to be? For this month’s theme, we will be exploring some of our favorite anime and other pop culture mediums that redefine individual beauty—inside and out. Some topics we may explore are physical appearances, social expectations on gender, and the importance of self-confidence.

Also, as an FYI, this post is not part of the official tour. But if anyone is curious, these were the official stops so if you haven’t checked these out, definately do so! Continue reading

Is it Queerbaiting? and Should it Be Explicitly Stated For It to Be Legit?

Intense-Heterosexual-Gaze-johnlock-30678664-800-635

Hey guys! So this is going to be my last post before I disappear on you all again. It was basically inspired by Pride Month and just a burning curiosity I’ve had since Yuri on Ice aired (plus, now that I’m obsessed with Sherlock the curiosity levels are off the charts!). As a warning, this post might seem all jumbled up (and has SPOILERS for YOI and Sherlock) because even I’m not sure where I’m going with this

So before I even mention if I think it is or isn’t, let’s find out what Queer baiting means

Late to the Game but Better Late Than Never [OWLS June Posts]

I usually post this thing at the beginning of the month but as a few of you might have noticed, I’ve been MIA. But that hasn’t stopped me from going around the wordpress community and checking out my fellow OWLS posts and I think we’ve hit another home run! So far everyone’s posts have been great and you should all check them out if you haven’t already

For this month, here was our topic: Continue reading

OWLS Team (unofficial?) Blog Tour: When A Family Needs to Work Together to Make It Function

Oh dear, that title sounds a bit dreadful and I even changed one of the words so that it wouldn’t sound too bad but not sure it worked…

Why hello there young people of here and there. Welcome to a possibly unofficial OWLS post. I’ve been MIA for a really long time and am not sure if this post even counts for the tour anymore. Either way I thought I’d share it with you all. Unlike my other OWLS posts, I’ve decided to make this one a bit more personal in the sense that I’m letting you all in through my family’s front door  Continue reading

Blogging Bookmarks: May Roundup Part 2

It’s that time of month again! Here are some posts I’d like to share with everyone. But before that, I have a wee-bit update on my end

large (2)

I’m not really feeling the blogging right now. I am not feeling well emotionally and I’m basically tired every day. I have no idea what’s wrong with me so I’m going to hold off on content because 1) I’m tired and 2) I haven’t watched much anime or read much manga in a few weeks and 3) I’m not keen on starting since I’m into something else now Continue reading

A Series of Posts to Help You Get Ready for Your (Possibly) First Convention [part 2: Budget]

Hey guys! I hope you all enjoyed the con-season post from yesterday (if you’ve read it already, we’re moving pretty quickly here) where I talked about useful items to pack. But as I was typing it up, I realized that post was useful only if you already knew what convention you were going to attend. And then this post started to form in my head

This time I’ll be talking about things you might consider before deciding to attend a convention. Most of it relates back to budget, Enjoy! And if anyone has any more ideas for topics I should talk about, let me know in the comments section

A Series of Posts to Help You Get Ready for Your (Possibly) First Convention [part 1: Packing]

Hey guys! IT’S MAY, and what does that mean? Convention season for Crimson has started this month (this past weekend actually)! And by convention season I mean “convention season” since I’ve had to cut down quite a bit on my outings this year

And it’s actually because of that cut that I now have more time to sit down and pass on my infinite wisdom to all of you young con-grasshoppers. If anyone wants my credentials for these posts: I got none (jk jk, I have attended like 2 conventions in my life, that makes me an expert, right?)

Now this was going to be one post but as I got writing, I realized I had quite a bit to say, so we’re going to have a second part later on this week. Possibly on Friday as I sit down and cry about the fact I can’t be in CA for the Sherlock Convention #CRIES

[Netgalley] Manga Classics: Jane Eyre

I just had to check out another. This might be my last manga classics in awhile because I can only read so many (lol)

jKxwRP2

Jane Eyre is one of those classics that I’ve only heard of but never really got curious about. I’ve read Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte but aside from that one book, I hadn’t really heard of this author’s name before Continue reading

[Netgalley] Manga Classics: Les Miserables

More manga to feed the soul (lol). So it’s been awhile since I last checked out a Manga Classics, possibly because I just haven’t been in the mood to read much. But recently I was bored and I thought I’d do some reading (and by some I mean a lot)

51Z9joGOg2L._SX346_BO1,204,203,200_

I decided to check out Les Miserables for a couple reasons. One is that I’ve seen this book all the time in the bookstores, have wanted to check it out, but it’s size always left me passing it up. Second is that I was really curious about the novel and Manga Classics has been a good way for me to learn about the story while still not knowing everything. Continue reading
