The Spirit Animal Blog Award [What My Blog Means to Me]

Hey guys!

So today I have the start of (hopefully) a slew of blog awards. I got quite a few nominations these past few days and there’s a couple I’ve yet to catch up on. The first one will be the Spirit Animal Blog Award, which is an award I’ve yet to hear about.

I was nominated by SindyBlue10, please check out her blog post on this award and follow her blog for a variety of anime, gaming, and everyday content.

Rules:

  • Post the award picture on your blog.
  • Write a short paragraph about yourself and what your blog means to you.
  • If you could be any animal, what would it be?
  • Pick ten nominees.

Me & My Blog: wow, this reminds me of those first days in school and your teachers leave you that ‘who are you’ assignment. It’s gonna not be ‘short’ sorry…haha

Even before the sun comes up I find myself waking up, fifteen minutes to open my eyes and fifteen minutes to gather my things as I find myself walking out the door, a quiet ‘I’m leaving’ echoing in a sleeping home. Coffee smells, playful smiles, and practiced greetings permeate my being and I head home hours after the sun has said hello. Even after a shower I can smell the caffeine, sticking to me, refusing to let go. I shrug it off and continue my day.

Paints, colors, and strangers. My fingers are stained and even after washing five, ten, twenty times, another scent lingers.

It’s all routine and I expect it when I pull the covers over me at night, when I set my alarm to wake me in four hours. I expect it when I finally have a day off because that’s how ingrained everything has become.

Crimson helps break free of this routine. I can become someone else and my blogs the channel. I meet people I would never had met if I’d stayed in the classroom. It’s a place where I can write about what happens behind closed eyelids. It’s a precious space but also a dangerous one, where I fear that I may be unwanted or rejected.

Luckily the atmosphere is positive, and even when only one person remains, I will write for them and hold onto them like a lifeline.

I also have a post called What Keeps Me Blogging that goes more in depth with my relationship with my blog if anyone is interested

Animal

If I could be an animal? I honestly would prefer not to be one. Animals just aren’t my thing…but if I had to pick…possibly a cat, not a stray. Cats are so lazy and people don’t expect them to be friendly and loving. People expect cats to be selfish and only loving when they want food and that sounds perfect to me. Just being lazy and having no expectations.

Of course, I also think it’d be cool to be a wolf but they live in the wild and have to be wary of predators.

Nominees

Because this isn’t an award I’ve seen, I’m going to go ahead and pick some people. Hope you guys have fun with this ^_^

DaiyamangaTakutoLynOGZShiroyuni (I just saw who you’re obsessed with on your blog, NICE) – Lita Kino – Fujinsei – Pantastic Panda – Leaveit2Me

Not 10 people but yeah it’s close enough, that’s all for now 😀

See you guys tomorrow~

  3. Yay! Congrats on receiving this Spirit Animal Award, although I have no idea what it is! (^___^) Way to go, Crim. Keep it up. And of course thanks for the nomination. When you tweeted all of our names, I thought it was just a random tweet naming your most favourite people (waggles my eyebrows). Anyway, my big thanks! Yay!
