Hey guys! So it’s now 2016 WOOT, and what does that mean? It means that I have to set new goals for the year (even though I’m 100% not going to finish them again…)
Like always, here are my 2015 Resolutions
- Read 60 novels and 200 Manga/Comics
- Write 3 complete stories (will most likely be short stories, can’t write novel stories to save my life)
- Lose some weight (5-10 Lbs)
- Not be in debt by the end of the year
- Re-learn some Japanese
Out of these 5 goals I only accomplished the 200 Manga/Comics count and the Not be in debt by the end of the year, Impressive no? Yeah I’m not completely impressed either 😦
In terms of novels I ended up reading 30 books, which isn’t too bad but I know it could have been higher. Of course, I didn’t read for quite a while since I was too lazy to actually start any books. So for 2016 I’m going to up the count. My goal is to read 40 books! That’s about three books a month
I’ll also up my Manga/Comics count to 300 because I know I did this for 2014 and I know I can do it again 😀
I’m also going to add a new resolution. A resolution that has never graced my resolution pile but that I thought I’d add because I’ll be graduating by this spring/summer *crosses fingers*
I’ve always wanted to go to Japan and while I did go to Okinawa some two years ago, I’d really love to go to Tokyo! So my new resolution will be to save up money to go to Japan for a trip either in late 2016 or sometime in 2017. Coupled with this resolution is me doing research on when it’s best to go, where I’ll be staying, what places to visit, and finally, to learn enough Japanese that I can find my way back to wherever I’m staying without keeling over from anxiety!
Wow, that resolution sounds TOUGH but also really fun!
I’ll also be keeping the lose weight (5-10 lbs) resolution because I’ve gotten really fat in the past few months. It’s gotten to the point where the majority of my pants don’t fit anymore, my shirts are tighter, and I’m overall not comfortable in my skin. Luckily, at the beginning of each year my mom and I do this ‘Cleansing’ thing that’s kind of like a diet. We stop eating junk and limit our palette to more healthy food.
It lasts for 3 weeks and by the end of it I usually lose weight and can’t eat stuff like bread, pizza, pastas, sugars, and other junk.
I’m also going to go ahead and write up one more never to be seen resolution! It’s similar to #2 but instead of writing 3 stories I’m going to go ahead and say write a draft of your current novel idea. Yes, aside from blogging and anime watching and manga reading I’m also an aspiring author. I’ve been one since I was in…8th grade, yeah, that sounds right.
I usually keep to fanfiction and I occasionally write my own short stories but in 2015 my brother and I outlined a whole fantasy story and I don’t want it to go to waste. Since I’ll have more time on my hands starting possibly June, I’d like to get that moving and into a draft.
And because we always aim high we couldn’t just stop at the novel idea. We also want an anime, manga, a light novel, merchandise, and MORE. So yeah, maybe I can even start on a comic draft or merchandise for motivation 😉
Let’s see, what do I have so far for 2016…
- Read 40 Books and 300 Manga/Comics
- Save money to go to Japan
- Lose Weight (5 – 10 lbs)
- Finish a draft for novel idea done by Bro & I (possibly a mini-comic and random merchandise)
Oh! And for my fifth resolution (though it feels more like the ninth or tenth), I’d like to create some fan merchandise 😀
I’ve always wanted to make something and then sell it at an Artists Alley but never really got up the nerve to do it. For one, I’m not really confident in my drawing abilities but if I don’t man up then my art degree will be for nothing. So as a starter I’d like to create stuff to sell at conventions or through a mini online store (I think a lot of people use Store Envy or something, I’d have to research).
Well now…my 2016 resolutions turned out really big! I’m even a little afraid of them but fear not! Crimson is not afraid of failing and if not this year then the next! Though it would be cool if I could get some of these things done this year, especially #4 and #5 😀
Did anyone else create some 2016 resolutions? What are they and are they feasible? Or near impossible like mine? Do you have a plan for making them work? If you don’t have resolutions, why? Is it just easier to go with the flow or…? What about your 2015 resolutions? Did you complete them?
