OH FUCK YAOI: Day 3

So this question is pretty hard, considering I don’t really watch yaoi anime…haha

Let’s see, I watched Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Junjo Romantica, Papa to Kiss in the Dark, Boku no Pico, and Gravitation. I’ve started (a while back and have yet to return to) Love Stage, DRAMAtical Murder, No Money, and I think that’s all? Oh and Loveless!

That’s kind of a short list but I’ll work with that!

My answer: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. For one, it’s longer than just 2-3 episodes, which I don’t think is enough to fully develop anything. I also really like it and have been able to rewatch this a few times (and still enjoy it from start to finish). Normally I don’t like to rewatch series because then I’ll just go and skip through all the episodes and only watch certain parts…

I also really like Ritsu, he’s hilarious, and I usually like tsundere characters (they’re my weakness). Tsundere characters like to tease me and my little yaoi heart. The art is a little funny though haha (I also think the misunderstanding around their breakup is kind of funny >.>)

I do wish I could also favorite Junjo Romantica but it’s been a while and I won’t really be able to say much about it (other than that Misaki is super adorable and I want to keep him)…I do know I enjoyed it though and will be watching season 3!

What yaoi anime do you guys like? I do need some recommendations haha

Summary:

When trying to prove people wrong about “riding on coat-tails” Onodera Ritsu is mistakenly placed into Marukawa’s Emerald division, also known as the shojo manga department. Ritsu contemplates staying only for a while and then quitting, since his original plan was to do editing in the literature department, however, his plans go awry when he learns that his boss is none other than his high school crush and the reason he considers himself to be a jaded adult.

Masamune Takano, formerly known as Saga before his parents divorced, is determined to make Ritsu fall in love with him again. As the days pass it’s revealed that both never forgot the other and the reason for their break-up was due to misunderstandings.

Story also follows Chiaki’s romance with Hatori (co-editor to Ritsu) and Kou and Shouta (co-editor). There’s also a bonus story of Yokozawa’s romance (Takano’s friend and one-night).

Crosses with Junjo Romantica in some places.

Also, I just bought the first volume in English and I’m just squealing because it’s adorable!

  1. Well there are very few BL anime to choose from. But yeah, I also like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. I like it better than its predecessor (Junjou Romantica) which will be getting another season. For one, I love the story between Takano and Ritsu. They do have chemistry which causes my heart to go *doki doki*.

I sure do hope that it will also get another season. I really love what’s happening in the manga now. The development is SUPER SLOW but yeah, I like that pacing when it comes to this long running BL manga. 😉

  2. This anime looks interesting. I will have to look into the series since sort of like series that have a universe spin-off effect. With regards to a BL anime recommendation all that can really recommend is Love Stage!! especially for how passionate the voice acting was done. Wish could give more but unfortunately there is hardly that much BL anime.

    • I started watching Love Stage when it was airing and was totally disappointed with the (hopefully) initial censorship! XD but then someone told me that it gets better so I’m hoping to pick it up some time (maybe this summer) – now that I think about it I also stopped reading the manga around that time, haha

You should! It’s really adorable 🙂
Haha, the dilemmas of a yaoi lover
